ScalCom 2016
Sponsored by IEEE and IEEE Computer Society, ScalCom 2016 is the event in 2016 in Toulouse in the field of Telecommunication and Information Processing with special emphasis on scalability. Scalcom 2016 covers the following areas:
- design and performance analysis of communication networks,
- queueing theory,
- network architecture,
- new communication protocols,
- convergence of communication and computing,
- design and performance analysis of multicore processors and computing accelerators like Graphics Processing Units (GPU) and Many Integrated Core (MIC) architectures.
- massively parallel systems,
- High Performance Computing (HPC),
- High Throughput Computing (HTC),
- parallel algorithms, parallel applications,
- distributed computing,
- new trends in computing like mobile, pervasive, cloud and volunteer computing.
Scalability is one of the key evaluation criteria of computing systems. In particular, scalability is essential in HPC systems. High scalability represents a kind of elasticity, which can guarantee high throughput, small delay and high performance. Additionally, with the need to process data deluge and to solve difficult or large scale problems, new architectures like computing accelerator, e.g., GPU and MIC have appeared. Improvements to these architectures are still needed in order to use them in large scale heterogeneous systems. Similarly, new parallel algorithms, softwares, and tools are needed to improve scalability.
The 16th IEEE International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications (ScalCom 2016) provides a high-profile, leading-edge forum for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to present state-of-art advances and innovations in theoretical foundations, systems, algorithms, infrastructure, tools, testbeds, and applications for scalable computing and communications, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future. ScalCom 2016 is the next edition of the successful series, previously held as ScalCom 2015 Beijing China, ScalCom 2014 Bali Indonesia, ScalCom 2013 Chengdu China, ScalCom 2012 Changzhou China, ScalCom 2011Paphos Cyprus, ScalCom 2010 Bradford UK, ScalCom 2009 Dalian China.
The proceedings of ScalCom 2016 are published by IEEE Computer Society and special issues of IEEE journals will be dedicated to extended works of papers presented at ScalCom 2016 Toulouse.
The 16th IEEE International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications will be associated this year with five IEEE international Conferences and their workshops:
- the 13th IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence and Computing;
- the 13th IEEE International Conference on Advanced and Trusted Computing;
- the IEEE International Conference on Cloud and Big Data Computing;
- the IEEE International Conference on Internet of People;
- the IEEE Smart World Congress.
